General information is provided. The Portal is designed to provide you with helpful information and resources about your policy. However, the information shown (such as any estimates or calculations) is for general and illustrative purposes only and you must not rely on it. You should seek independent financial advice before making any investment or other financial decisions.

To obtain current and personalised information We make no representations, warranties or guarantees (whether express or implied) that the content on the Portal is accurate, complete or up to date. For up to date information, always check your most recent individual policy document or contact us.

Your policy documents will always apply. If there is a difference or conflict between the information set out on the Portal and the provisions of your policy, your policy will take precedence.

No representations or warranties are given in respect of third party websites or their content.

  6. Making requests via the Portal

Your requests. You may request us to do certain things via the Portal – for example, to change your bank account details. Every time you submit a request, you are giving us an official instruction and legal authorisation to act on it. We will treat the request as coming from you, even if you later prove it was made without your knowledge or consent, unless we or our employees have been negligent, fraudulent or deliberately failed in our duties to you. This authorisation remains in force until we receive your notice withdrawing it (either in writing or via the Portal), however this will not affect any transactions we initiated before we received your notice. We may ask you to confirm any instruction sent through the Portal before we proceed.

Completed requests. Any requests you make on the Portal will only be considered completed once we confirm this in writing outside of the Portal.

  7. Your responsibilities

Internet access. You must arrange for your own internet access (including setting up and maintaining your own hardware, software and internet connection and up to date antivirus protection) and ensure that anyone who uses your internet connection to access the Portal is aware of, and complies with, these Terms.

Keep your account secure. Treat all information about your policy and Portal log-in details as confidential and do not disclose them to anyone else. You should not leave a device unattended whilst it is logged on to the Portal and always sign out of the Portal after use. We recommend using your own device to access the Portal and keep that device protected with up to date anti-virus software and firewalls. We may disable your Portal account for security reasons or if we suspect your account details have been compromised. If you know or suspect that someone else knows your login details, contact us as soon as you can.

Other security requirements. When using the Portal, you must not:

    • knowingly introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other malicious code,
    • try to gain unauthorised access (including to any server, computer or database connected to the Portal), or
    • attack or interfere with the Portal in any way.
Violating these restrictions would be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any suspected violations to law enforcement agencies, disclose your identity if requested, and immediately suspend or terminate your access to the Portal.

  8. Our responsibilities

Our responsibility to you. We are only responsible for losses you suffer by us breaching these Terms. We do not exclude or limit out liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

What we are not responsible for. We are not liable to you for any loss, damage, costs or expenses you might incur due if:

    • the loss was unexpected, meaning it was not a reasonably foreseeable consequence of us breaching these Terms when you agreed to them. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when these Terms were entered into, or
    • the loss could have been avoided if you took reasonable action.

The Portal might not always be available. We try to keep the Portal operating smoothly and up to date. However, we do guarantee that the Portal and any content it contains will always be accurate, complete, available, uninterrupted or that the Portal will be free from errors, viruses, or other issues. We may also suspend, withdraw or restrict the availability of the Portal for business and operational reasons and will try to give you reasonable notice in advance. We may also update the Portal from time to time to reflect changes to our products, our users' needs and our business priorities.

  9. Final important terms

Severance. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision will be deleted without affecting the rest of these Terms.

No third party rights. These Terms are between you and us. Nobody else can enforce these Terms and neither of us will need a third party’s approval to end or change these Terms.

Transferring rights. You agree that we may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to a third-party purchaser of our business or to an affiliate, in which case we will notify you and explain your options.

What laws apply. These Terms are governed by English law, but we will not deprive you of any protection you have under the laws of the country where you live and you can bring claims against us in the courts of your home country.
